Summary: The people of Tunisia have decided that some of the older Tunisian political parties must
reside in order to fully transition into a democracy. After months of months of political wrangling with
a hard-bargaining opposition, the party group, Ennahda, has finally agreed to step down. Their opposition,
the union, has schedualed many political meetings in order to press the Ennhda for more concrete
information on the topic of their resignation.

Thoughts: I think that the Ennahda's actions have slowed down the democratization process so it is
understandable that the union would have wanted them to reside. I am happy that there was no violence
associated with their resignation as there usually is. It looks as if Tunisia is really trying to improve on their
current political status and reputation. I'm glad that they are transitioning into a democracy- I think that this
will really get them on the right political path.

Political life: The resignation of the Ennahda has a powerful effect on Tunisia's political life.
It will get them closer to being a full democracy and leave all non-democracy actions behind. It will also help
Tunisia start out fresh and form new political parties as a new form of government, a democracy. It will also
change some of the decisions that Tunisia's government has been making- doubtfully for the better.
